Jane Field, M.S., N.C.C., C.R.C

Are you dissatisfied with your current work-life or prospects, and are you considering a career or job change as a result? If so, you can call on Jane’s broad experience and expertise to guide you through a process of career assessment and planning so that you can enjoy a more rewarding, balanced and “fitting” work-life in your future.

Counseling and Life Experience

For more than 25 years, Jane has helped adults at all stages of their career development – entering, in or leaving a wide variety of occupations and at all skill levels - find greater satisfaction in their work and leisure life. She has counseled

  • mid-life career changers
  • individuals pre- and post-retirement
  • individuals re-entering the workplace
  • recent college and professional school graduates

and others who want to identify and explore other promising career paths than those they’ve been on. She has also helped those in recovery or living with physical or mental health concerns balance their need for career change with that for maintenance of their health and well-being.

Jane is a career changer, herself – from science literature librarian, to computer programmer, to scientific book editor, to school and hospice volunteer, to employment specialist to her current and favorite occupation of career counselor – so she understands well the challenges and rewards of career decision-making and transition.

Client Experience

Jane’s clients report their great appreciation for her insights, knowledge, resourcefulness and persistent kind encouragement in clarifying and pursuing their career goals. She understands that work has primary meaning and importance in everyone’s life, and that career change, even the contemplation of it, is accompanied by some stress. Jane is skilled at helping her clients deal with such stress and manage their concerns about change. She believes that each of her clients can achieve her/his own model of career success, and her clients have repeatedly expressed their gratitude for her commitment to and effectiveness in helping them do just that.
